Note: Using direct sunlight to cook is most natural, healthy and tasty. There are basically two kinds of solar cookers – the solar box cooker and the parabolic cooker. The solar box cooker is inexpensive and portable. The food cooks slowly but all micro-nutrients are preserved. However, the quantity is just enough for a family of four. The parabolic cooker on the other hand, is as efficient as gas and can cook meals for large numbers quickly.
